:Flag Folding Ceremonies
The Senator John Heinz History Center will honor U.S. servicemen and women serving overseas this holiday season with four special flag folding ceremonies each day from Dec. 27-30 at 12:30 p.m.
Members of the Operation Troop Appreciation, Military Family Network, 28th Infantry Division of the Army National Guard, and 171st Air National Guard will join local U.S. veterans and History Center visitors throughout the week to help fold a giant 36-foot American flag in the History Center’s first floor Great Hall.
Visitors and veterans will also sign a special “Thank You Wall” that will be shipped to U.S. troops serving overseas.
Additionally, all U.S. veterans and current servicemen and women (plus one guest) will receive FREE admission to the History Center from Dec. 27-30.
All visitors are encouraged to tour the History Center’s new exhibition, Stars & Stripes: An American Story, which details the stories of the people behind the more than 200 year history of the American flag.
Docent-led tours of Stars & Stripes will be available at 11:00 a.m., noon, and 1:00 p.m. each day from Dec. 27-30. The tours are free with paid admission.
